Many thanks, Peter. For a long period of time I wished that someone could help me with spoken English. So I
felt very happy when I saw your post on http://www.popenglish.tv/match/match_view.php?id=58584. In my
opinion, I hope you are a Chinese, and you can speak English as good as you speak Chinese, so when I
meet words or sentences I don't know how to say in English I speak them out to you in Chinese and you tell
me how to speak them in English immediately. After I check your profile and know that you come from
Chengdu, Sichuan
Province, I put you on my QQ-friend list immediately. But when I visit your QQ Zone, I find that you're learning
Mandarin, I thought maybe I made a mistake, you are a foreigner dyed-in-the-wood. Then I comfort myself,
even though you are a foreigner, according to your QQ-name you must be a person who knows Chinese
culture's background very well. In my hometown, "Liaoge" is a kind of bird that can imitate what people say
and can speak many kinds of languages. You declare yourself is the King of "Liaoge", it is equal to your
occupation, on the other hand, it proves that you are familiar with Chinese culture.
I still remember the first time I spoke to you on the net. I am confused the way that you speak Mandarin. It just
sounds like a foreigner does. So the first question that I asked you is "Are you a foreigner?" Even now，when
you speak Mandarin, sometimes I will ask myself "Are you a real Chinese?"
But any way, it is not important. The most importance is that you can help me to improve my English. Just like
the sentence I wrote beside my QQ-name "I choose what I love, maybe it is not the best." The same reason,
maybe you are not the best teacher, but you are the fittest one for me.
Time goes so fast, you have been my Internet-teacher for nearly half a year. Many thanks for your patience
and carefulness, when I speak English even very small mistakes that I make can't escape from your ears, you
will teach me the correct pronunciation time after time without any weariness, until I could pronounce it well.
Because of your strictness, I don't dare to be lazy. I practice the pronunciation even though I am having a
bath. Nowadays, in the mornings I can wash my face and teeth and listen to CCTV 9's English news at the
same time, I can understand the news that I heard, nearly 80-90 percent. When I translate orally, I can speak
English fluently without any pauses that I had done before.
All things above have happened just because I met you and you have been my teacher. I don't know how to
use words to express my appreciation, I hope you will have more and more students, have a healthy and
wealthy life.
